What a fabulous morning at the Old English Gardens. Our task was to give a rose bush its first hair cut since lock down, so thats just what we did.
As we got stuck in it didn't take the rain long to show its face, but did that deter us, nahhhh, no way, we just kept snipping away undecided whether to give it a mohican or a 60's bob. In the end we decided on a plain short back and sides.
Thanks to everyone that showed this morning, it was a job well done. See ya at the next mishhhhh!! Tim đđ»

Lee Patey completed 25 good deeds with GoodGym.
Lee has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.

12 GoodGymers assembled at Hall Place this morning for the latest instalment of litter picking in Bexleyâs open spaces. Rather foolishly, I was not expecting much of a task today, but was unpleasantly surprised. A quick tour around the car park filled up carrier bags before heading to the main green area. Awaiting us was the remnants of what appeared to be a party as there were discarded three vodka bottles, various food items, enough laughing gas bottles to make even Victor Meldrew chuckle. There was even a full petrol can so who knows what that was for. Fortunately there were some discarded bin bags left which we used to tidy up the area. With bags fully loaded we made our way back to the car park discarding the bags next to appropriate council bins. It was good to see some new members, Francis and Michelle, who both enjoyed the morningâs task.

Lee Patey earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Lee completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Lee was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Bexley Report written by Sarah Lee
After a few weeks of plogging around Danson Park we decided to give Lesnes Abbey Woods a bit of TLC. I had read on a local page that there was lots of litter being left in the woods and around the Abbey Ruins.
A small group of us met at the entrance to the woods as we distributed litter pickers. We had a carrier bag each so we didnât have to share bin bags and headed into the woods. Whilst waiting for everyone we had already collected a bag full of litter from the side of the path. Walking through the woods, there wasnât much rubbish, but once we reached the main open area by the ruins and cafe there was a lot more rubbish to be collected. We split up and went in loops around the abbey ruins before heading back up to where we met. We had 2 bin bags full at the end.
