There has been publicity about a shortage of blood donors this week. If you are thinking of donating I can tell you it takes less than an hour, you get a lie down and a cup of tea with a sweet treat of your choice. This Blood Doning session was booked in February as it was close to my unofficial “Coach” (I visited as an Age UK volunteer befriender) so I could donate on my way home. Sadly she passed away last month😢but I kept the appointment and did this last familiar walk back in her honour. RIP 💜

6 energetic Goodgymmers made their way to the Babybank via the usual multitude of methods.
However when we got there, our always charming host Adam was very apologetic in explaining there wasn't actually any task for us to do. Something had gone wrong in the communication somewhere at their end.
So instead of sorting through a few bags full of clothing, we had a lovely catch-up about all things Goodgym and a few bits more.
Louise, sorry you didn't get the full experience, hopefully another time!
P.S.... a mini litter pick on my way across the flats is the other pic

Its always a bit tricky organising a task during a midweek working day but it is rare to only have two signed up for Frenford Food bank picking and packing day. Ed and Linda arrived early to help set up and, as they were the only two there when due to start, they steeled themselves for a long session. Fortunately one of the food bank recipients put themselves forward to help and was quickly snapped up and trained up. A little later a Frenford helper arrived, took one look round and called in two of her family in to help out, including dragging her Daughter out of bed.
Once again this little community worked together and managed to get 55 food packages out to the less fortunate in our borough. We even finished on time 😊
