Three GoodGymer-s met at Mountsfield Park in the freezing temperatures and not 100% if Parkrun would be going ahead but with two aims:

1. Fill in some spots on the volunteer roster: tailwalking to course check to litter picking to course set up!
2. Spread the word about GG by running in our GG tops (2 out of 3, I wasn't brave enough to take off layers whilst tailwalking).

With our aims achieved and 218 brave Parkrunners avoiding the ice, it was a successful morning!

It was time for the big event, our favourite task of the year and that's putting the Christmas decorations up at Seniors, not going for drinks at the Blythe Hill Tavern (although that comes a close second)! We eagerly headed up the hills to Senior's wearing our flashing scrunchies to draw attention to us even more.

Paul and Jacqueline had arrived earlier than us (it's like the start of the dream...) and had started putting the blue and silver tree up in the dance hall.

The rest of us quickly divided into groups and found a role from untangling lights to hanging tinsel to decorating the second tree.

Time really flies when you're having fun or wearing all the tinsel, it was time to hang the last decorations and take our group photo! Then onto the Blythe Hill Tavern for celebratory Christmas drinks.

I would like to say a huge thank you for all the hard work that you do for the community groups we support - you're all amazing!!

This trip to Senior's was a little different, in place of completing a big task that the team are unable to complete themselves and therefore doing some good... we arrived to a very dark looking building and spent 5minutes trying to find a doorbell.

Unfortunately there was to be no task for the evening but not to worry we'll be seeing the Senior team soon. It's nearly time for putting the Christmas decorations up!!

And we still got in a longer run up and over the hills - silver lining!
