Lambeth Report written by Joel Wiles
8 of GoodGyms finest dominated 60 minutes of running fitness action in Vauxhall.
A surprise rain shower greeted us but little did we know it would be a blessing in disguise!! Finding our way to an empty floodlit area we made the most of the facilities and got going to raise our pulses and activate our muscles!
Key focus (after getting warm) was to really focus on getting our knee drive powerful and high then engage our solid core to create the perfect platform to run efficiently and powerfully.
Interspersing Running form drills with strength and conditioning exercises to get our bodies strong enough to coup with our extra power. Great muscle stability, balance and mental grit helping us to complete a range of mainly lower body and core moves.
Finishing off the hour with some perfectly formed forward leaning power strides then 6 minutes of pairs relays at a strong tempo.
Thanks for coming out and hope you enjoyed the session! Look forward to seeing you all next week (and every Thursday in February) same time, same place.
Smooth Running
Joel

7 fitness focused GoodGymers crushed 60 minutes of top Running Fitness Fun in Central London!!
Meeting at the beautiful Somerset House we welcomed GoodGym first timers Carly and Adele to the fold.
Deciding that Russell Square would be our training destination for the evening we navigated our way north through the London foot traffic.
Arriving at the Russell Square oasis we started by focusing on strength mixing various lower body exercises into a progressive routine. Particularly targeting stability so plenty of walking lunges, controlled calf raises and one legged balances.
Once the legs started to sing a little we began to develop our Coordination with hop, skip and a little dancing. All progressing from lower to higher impact as we got the technique down.
With the conditioning in the bag we moved onto some running and got to work with some multi paced loops. Starting with some faster running for about 150 metres then jog recovering 200 metres before working hard again! 6 reps in the bag we had worked hard but just before we got to go and refuel we ended the evening with a Epic relay race!! A hotly contested battle pretty much came down to a photo finish!
Once we got our breath back we stretched out and headed off home with a fun filled fitness session in the bag!!
Great to have you along this evening, Brilliant effort put in!! Hope to see you again next week!
Smooth skipping
