We had a lovely evening down on the Sherborne estate weeding a local alley and preparing it for some wildflower seeds.
Hazel, Phoenix, Maurice and Nicolaset to work pulling lots of thistles and stubborn weeds from the borders ready to plant some wildflowers. It was a bit of an arduous task because as there had been no rain, the ground was really hard which made getting the weeds out tougher!
Phoenix was in her element spotting multiple caterpillars and other insects that were putting in an appearance. It was nice to meet the real life Colin the caterpillar! :)
Will be back in a couple of weeks to get the rest of the weeds up and so the wildflower seeds.
It was a rewarding task and we could really see the difference we had made.
Well done everyone. You're all amazing.
Lots of love Nicola xxx

everyone brought their own sunshine to junior parkrun to brighten up a grey rainy morning! Claire, Maurice and Karen helped put on this fabulous event for 126 juniors and their grown ups. Claire was a marshal cheering people on around the course and keeping people safe; Maurice was timekeeper recording every pair of little legs crossing the finish line, and Karen was Run Director, doing event set up, welcoming volunteers, a briefing, and processing results at the end.

a lovely morning for a bit of parkrun volunteering! Nicola and Karen did the course check and course set up before Karen did the event briefing before the runners and walkers set off for their 5k around the park. Nicola did a fabulous job of number checker / funnel manager, making the result processing a doddle for Karen. While Karen and Nicola were packing everything away ready for next week's parkrun, Emily and Maurice were doing their favourite job of sorting the tokens back into order and replacing missing tokens, all ready to go again next week. 362 people took part - what a fabulous thing to be part of!
