Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner
An amazing 5 GoodGymers (or should it be 5 amazing GoodGymers?) answered the call to help out at the Baby Bank. We were faced by a mountain of donated clothes which needed checking and sorting. This was the first time that I had been to their new premises in Holyport and it was great to have some natural light and space in which to work. Alongside a couple of other volunteers, Jen, Juli, Michelle, Rachel and Sheila set to work checking the quality of donations and making sure they were in bags labelled with the correct size. By the end of the session, we had eroded the mountain slightly, but there is plenty more to go. There are more opportunities to help out next Friday or Wednesday

Michelle, Gail and Vikie spent time with the Baby Bank this morning, sorting through piles of donations of clothes, making sure they were great quality to be passed on, as well as organising into sizing so that the team can easily select and pack up ready for families in need. Baby Bank are currently supporting local families as well as refugee families who have recently arrived in the area.

Steve, Amanda, Michelle and Tessa joined forces with local volunteers to tidy up Vale Rd Cemetery. You wood not believe what they achieved in just 90 minutes!
Some GoodGymers were logging up their second visit to the cemetery having participated in a previous clean up. This time they got to the root of the problem and tackled large trees and shrubs that have previously looked impossible. The team hacked and chopped until they were able to bring an old grave back into the sunlight.
As we think this week about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, it feels all the more important to do something to care for the final resting place of those that have come before us. The work to transform Vale Road Cemetery isn't complete yet but it's looking so much better.
