Back To School!

Crewe Report written by Nicola Marshall

It was great to be back with the gang last night supporting Motherwell with their amazing charity. It felt like a long time since we’d last been together so it was nice to catch up with everyone again.

We were delighted to see you back for a second installment of Goodgym Rachel and really glad that the litter pick last time didn't put you off completely!!

Tonight‘s task was sorting out school uniform! Always a challenge, as there’s so much of it! It’s great to see so many people donating to such a great cause and it’s a great resource which serves the community so so well. Helps the environment too! Win win!!

Great to be back with you all, and looking forward to the next task!

Have a great weekend and see you all soon.

Lots of love Nicola xxx

PS - huge apologies to you Nigel for forgetting to give you your cream egg!! And I still can’t get over the fact that the rest of you don’t like them!!! What?!!!

350 not out!

Crewe Report written by Karen Whitehead

After last week's cancellation and last minute change of event, it was good to be back in the park with Crewe parkrun. Four GoodGymmers helped to bring the event together - Nicola on event set up (in between catching up with everyone in the park, including Colin the dog!) then barcode scanning, Nigel on course check and timekeeper, Karen as Run Director and results processor, and Mark on first timers welcome as well as grabbing the microphone to embarrass Karen (only joking! not embarrassed at all!) and announcing that today was her 350th time volunteering with parkrun! Wow!

p-Aced it!

Crewe Report written by Karen Whitehead

After 2 weeks enforced break due to Jack Frost, it was great to be back in the park again. Mark was Run Director today, and led a great event for 359 partucipants and an incredible 40 volunteers! Mark really took it in his stride when he found the pacer bibs had gone missing, but the show must go on - and there were lots of happy people grateful for the pacers today. Reports of PBs were incoming!

Mark was tasked with getting photos - he's such a shy retiring type we were surprised to get lots of selfies of him with the other volunteers! Not! Lol. His main task was to get a pic of camera-shy Nicola carrying out the first timers welcome - pleased Mark did get a pic for us! Marjo completed one of the most popular but longest tasks at parkrun today - the lovely token-sorting task, accompanied by coffee, after completing her parkrun. Well done Marjo!

Well done Mark, Nicola and Marjo - you made a lot of people happy today.

What A Load of Rubbish!

Crewe Report written by Nicola Marshall

It was great to be back out with the gang again this week after a few weeks off for Christmas!

We were delighted to welcome Rachel, who joined us for the first time tonight. We hope you had a great evening Rachel and enjoyed your first GoodGym litter pick! We hope the cold weather and some grim bits of rubbish didn’t put you off and that you’ll come and join us again soon :)

Karen, Nigel, Rachel, Maurice and Nicola collected probably one of our biggest hauls ever! A whopping 10 full bags of rubbish collected from just a small area of the town - and we could’ve kept going and collected a lot more!!

We rounded up the evening with a nice brew, beer and snacks at Hops Bar where we made it our duty to educate Rachel about parkrun, lol! I’m not sure we’ve done enough to recruit her though (just kidding Rachel!).

We definitely made a difference to the streets of Crewe tonight and it was nice to hear a few car horns beep in appreciation too!

Have a great week everyone. You're all amazing ❤

Lots of love Nicola xxx
