It was great to be back out with the gang again this week after a few weeks off for Christmas!

We were delighted to welcome Rachel, who joined us for the first time tonight. We hope you had a great evening Rachel and enjoyed your first GoodGym litter pick! We hope the cold weather and some grim bits of rubbish didn’t put you off and that you’ll come and join us again soon :)

Karen, Nigel, Rachel, Maurice and Nicola collected probably one of our biggest hauls ever! A whopping 10 full bags of rubbish collected from just a small area of the town - and we could’ve kept going and collected a lot more!!

We rounded up the evening with a nice brew, beer and snacks at Hops Bar where we made it our duty to educate Rachel about parkrun, lol! I’m not sure we’ve done enough to recruit her though (just kidding Rachel!).

We definitely made a difference to the streets of Crewe tonight and it was nice to hear a few car horns beep in appreciation too!

Six GoodGymmers brought the sparkle to Crewe parkrun on a dreary damp Saturday between Christmas and New Year. Karen, Nicola, Maurice, Mark, Marjo and Nigel all volunteered, covering numerous roles: volunteer coordinator, returning rescued signs from the last parkrun (thank you Maurice!) , course set-up, barcode scanning, timekeeping, tidying away the kit ready for next week, helping an injured runner, sorting the tokens, and social media. Every part was greatly appreciated by the 325 participants.

Maurice and Nicola had a fabulous evening out with The Round Table and Santa collecting for local charities.

It was wonderful to be back out with Santa this year! It’s definitely one of the highlights of our year! We love it!!

The evening was brilliantly organised with Sam directing each of us to the houses we were to knock at. We even had a pit stop with gorgeous hotdogs and chocolates! How lucky were we!!

It was so lovely watching the children get so excited to see Santa and seeing their eyes light up as he passed by on his sleigh. Santa was very friendly and took time to chat and have photos with his adoring public ;-)

The weather was even kind to us too. It was a dry, mild night so made the evening perfect.

It was a lovely evening having a jolly festive catch up with lovely friends.

Good food, great company and lovely laughs at Crewe's buzzing market hall! It really was a lovely evening chatting and catching up with good friends.

Hope we can do it again before next Christmas!

4 GoodGymmers helped to make Crewe parkrun happen this week! Nicola played the biggest contribution as Run Director - making sure everything ran smoothly for the 262 participants, and the team of volunteers. Karen, Maurice and Nigel made an important albeit smaller contribution - sorting the tokens over a coffee and lots of chatting, ready for next week's parkrun when GoodGym will be back on duty.
