GoodGym Runner

Regina Buechner has done their first good deed with GoodGym.

Regina is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Someone left the Bath tap on!?

9 GoodGym runners braved the rain for the 5k run up to the guerrilla garden at Donkey Lane to do some weeding and nettle clearing for Transition Bath.

Great to see Regina at her first run this week - welcome and we hope to see you again soon! A warm welcome to all our lovely London runners on route to the Cardiff Half Marathon tomorrow. And of course we mustn't forget our trusty Bristol runner, Paul!

Our task this weekend started at the guerrilla garden at Donkey Lane, where after an uphill struggle, our hosts were awaiting our arrival, armed with all the tools we needed to help get the garden cleared up. Steve, Sarah, Paul Frances and Laura set to work clearing nettles whilst Regina, Emily and Danica hunted out the much overgrown path in amongst the vegetables and herbs.

As seems to be becoming a tasty tradition with GoodGym Bath, Paul and Emily left supplied with bagfuls of kale and rocket from the garden as the group headed down to Victoria Park, where a second guerrilla garden awaited. Here, yet more delicious treats were on offer, as our hosts kindly supplied us with some apples from the local orchard. After some one-handed weeding around the strawberry plants, we had this garden looking top notch too and headed back to the leisure centre to say goodbye to Regina.

After a stop for lunch at The Boater, we took Steph's 'special tour' of the sites in Bath, including the hilly walk and 118 steps (Steve is really good at counting) up to the take in the views from Alexandra Park. Despite the sunny looking photos, the rain made an appearance for both of our uphill trips!

Londoners, we can only apologise for the Bath weather - someone must have left the tap on!

Good luck to all those running the Cardiff Half tomorrow; you'll smash it! And thank you to Emily for writing the run report. Hope to see our visitors back in Bath soon (Steve, its okay - you don't have to come back!)

It's OK Steph, I'll be back next time I'm in Bath. The whole experience was a joy!
