You’re not our (sticky) bud

Bristol Report written by Melanie Young (she/her)

The first head torch gardening of 2025 saw a small but perfectly formed group of GoodGymmers tackling the emerging sticky bud and grass in one of the beds - the one some guerrilla gardener had strimmed to an inch tall in the autumn and were hoping will recover this spring. At least we've managed to get put all the hidden litter and broken glass!

With lots of "help" and "support" for Paul's upcoming professional exam, we're suddenly all interested in Lasagne Night heating solutions.

See you all next week?

Never forket your roots

Bristol Report written by Paul Becker (he/him)

A clash of the tasks today meant a smaller than usual group at Manor Valley Woods.

Undeterred, three of us had just started on the days task (forking out the cut scrub to make space for wildflowers and new pollinating growth) when we were joined by new recruit Karen (welcome!)

We spent the rest of the session keeping warm working away at our assignment while having a good chat and getting to know each other.

No Orchard book club this week, but regular volunteer Matthew made up for this by educating us all on international cinema and animation!
