Saturday morning at the allotment. It had been a while since we had last visited the allotment so it looked more like a field than an allotment.
we all got to work and were busy turning over the plot and de weeding the plot! it was certainly a workout in itself and we all started to ache. An hour and a half later and we still have more to go. A big good luck to Sharon who is heading back to australia. It was lovely to have met you will be missed.
A big well done to everyone who joined us, we will try and fit one more allotment session in before the big day!

Well done to every one and what a yummy lot of crops which were harvested from our plot at the allotment.
A big welcome to Frances who joined us tonight for her first experience of WOKING GG.
The plot was turned over and a fresh pick of the crops, from cougettes to butternut squash to rhubarb!
Next week on the 10th - there will be hill training. Come and Join us!

Adam, Anne, Claud and Katie met at the WWF car park and ran along the canal to Brockhill Care Home to join Josh and Sharon. It was lovely to see Katie and Josh after a long break.
The ladies at Brockhill Care Home were surprised to see us earlier than usual. It must have been thanks to Claud’s running pace. Everything was ready for us, from water for the runners to brushes and pots of varnish.
We tackled the varnishing of some of the garden furniture while being cheered by a couple of residents. We talked about Claud’s running prowess when achieving the challenge of walking, running or riding 150k in 15 days. With two friends, she managed to raise more than £3000 for the RSPCA England. One of Adam’s skills is to run each week 20k to Frimley and back to take part in a martial art session… while Katie and Anne ran 8k encouraging each other to keep going… good practice for Katie’s half marathon next March.
We hope to be able to return soon the Brockhill Care Home first because we always feel so welcome but also as they have several sets of chairs and tables requiring some attention.
From now on, we should remember to bring our torches, as the evenings get dark rather early! We ran back to Woking along the road via Horsell to ensure safety.
Next Wednesday we should return to the allotment to get ready to plant some vegetables for the winter months.
Happy running to everyone!

Holly, Shanon, Sharon, James, Wayne and Anne met at the allotment with the task of clearing our plot. But we also wanted to celebrate Wayne’s 50th and Anne’s 100th missions!
First of all, we welcomed Shanon who joined GoodGym Woking for her first mission. She could not have chosen a better week….
The courgettes have turned into marrows; we also found some chilies and a butternut squash. The rhubarb was plentiful too. All was distributed fairly as a reward for the work done clearing up the weeds.
Snacks and drinks were appreciated and Holly opened a bottle of Prosecco she had generously brought in. We drank to GoodGym Woking and all the runners/walkers who have taken part in a mission with us.
Next week we should meet at Brockhill Care Home to varnish some garden furniture. But Holly will confirm with us nearer to the time. If the mission cannot take place there, we will meet at the allotment as there are still weeds to be pulled out.
Happy running to everyone!
