Camden Report written by Frances Powrie
We had four new people this week - welcome Katie, Oliver, Caroline and Chris!
We returned to a classic GoodGym Camden task last night, with 29 of us rocking up to Kings Cross Orchard/Alara – a few more than Alex had expected!
However, he managed to find jobs for most of us to do – ranging from mulching the trees, shovelling the mulch, wheelbarrowing, litter picking and weeding. We also got to see the range of plants growing, from chillies to chinese pears! With so many of us, we made quick work of it and it wasn’t long before it was time to down tools and pick up a box of cereal.
Then we hot-footed it to Granary Square, where we all ran between 1 and 3 laps – the aim was to do it as a progression run, where you run each lap a bit faster than the last, but some us decided to take it at our own pace.
Then it was time to run home and have a nice stretch!
If you need more of an orchard fix, you can find details of the Camley Road Harvest Festival on 13 September here: https://www.facebook.com/events/579450629228576/
We also have a community mission to help Camden Highline on 19 September - details at https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/help-camden-highline-tidy-up-camden-gardens

Sophie Watson has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Sophie is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

24 Goodgymers ran 4km to help C4WS make 16 beds for the homeless!
Welcome along to newbies - Georgia, Violet and Sophie - lovely to have you along.
In the news this week:
What a lovely evening, thanks for coming along - it was great to see new and old faces. After warming up we headed to the American International Church to help the wonderful Camden based charity C4WS, who look after homeless people in our community. Providing them with counselling, support, short and long term accommodation and hopefully help towards a permanent job.
Beds and fitness!!
We ran swiftly to the church and got to work straight away, making 16 beds over three rooms - communal, staff and snorers. As we finished up Kevin from C4WS talked about the people who slept in those beds you made last night, including a pregnant woman.
After a group picture we headed to Russell Square for an interval session. Everyone did great and even the dog walkers admired your quick pace!
Thanks for coming all. Sign up for next week here, task(s) tbc.
