Our first leafleting for a while for one of our favourite organisations, not at all because they are very, very close to our start location at the lovely Queen Square. We also had the largest walking group so far.
Sarah and Marky were ready for us at Faithspace with bundles of leaflets and access to the target tower blocks to spread the news of a community bring-and-share picnic with fun and games to mark the Jubilee.
What could be easier than leafleting a tower block? You start at the top and work your way down. Simples. If you're in the right bit of the right block, which it turns out is really tricky with magic staircases that spew you out into other blocks with no warning - Hogwarts isn't a patch on this! Richard G was very brave leafleting Room 101 having backmarked along with David H following favourite Scouse run leader Vaguely Northern Darren.
We're pretty sure we leafleted everywhere just once but we could be very mistaken! We got to enjoy some amazing views from the top floors, too.
There was time for a bit of a longer run back but we still beat the rain and had big smiles after our urban adventure.

Do Tuesday nights get any better than this? What a treat for George's first good deed!
A bit of running and walking, a lot of chatting and much barrowing of manure and weeding - all in glorious sunshine and great company, including pigs, goats and chickens.
Lots of puns about the cost of inflation (of the tyres) and the rising cost of barrowing, and the disappointment that the downhill wheelbarrow sprint wasn't long enough to qualify as a strava segment. The only sadness of a beautiful night where those who weren't running back downhill stayed to help with the final (?) few barrows of manure down to the farm.

That was honestly such an amazing evening - thanks for having us Bramble Hill Farm! Perfect weather and great company. I can confirm we managed to get the last of the manure down the hill.. very satisfying.

Steve Dalley has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Steve is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

It was a fantastic night to be joined by a group from SR2 who are GoodGym-minded souls from a socially-responsible recruiting company who are on the lookout for lovely volunteering opportunities - a perfect match! Welcome Andy, Caitlin, Joe, Steve, Matt, Hannah, Olivia, Eleanor and Emma, don't be scared that GoodGym legend Dave has completed over 1,000 good deeds - you're all on your way to milestone t-shirts now!
After some quick introductions and warm ups, 15 runners and 3 walkers set off for Southville, chattering all the way and sending Hugh scurrying off for more paint and super soft brushes to go with the brooms, trowel, dustpan and brown paint.
The outside play space was awash with GoodGymmers , everywhere you turned. The very exciting addition of white paint (did I mention the new super soft brushes already?) meant being slightly more careful of drips and spills. Unless you could pass it off as bird poo, of course. Meanwhile Tim mastered the climbing wall and Sarah showed amazing agility after her 45-mile run at the weekend!
Before we knew it was time to tidy up and organise group photos under the amazing wisteria and surrounding the teepee with pencil toppers adorned in white- we don't think Hugh's noticed yet...
There was a bit of a sprint finish to the run heading back to Queen Square and it was dry enough to lie on the grass for post-run stretches for the first time this year.
