Bath Report written by Meyrick Williams (He/Him)
On a very busy Saturday evening shift GoodGym athletes Rob, Steven and Meyrick put in a sterling effort to help marshall at the Pavilions.
Today was dedicated to people receiving vaccine number two and the queue was non stop. The venue were, as always, very welcoming and grateful for our help and made sure we knew exactly what was required of us.
To help keep us on the ball the staff manager ensured we were adequately rotated from task to task, from monitoring all exits to sanitising seating where used. Everything we needed to do carry out or duties was on hand and in abundant supply.
With the leisure centre now open regular punters are using the car park as well so the pay and display was back in action. In order to allow people attending a vaccine appointment to park for free there was a new process for inputting car registration details upon entry to allow them a free hours parking.
The late shift also incorporates those with no pre booked appointments who are called by the doctors on the day to attend at short notice in order that as many vaccines can be used on the day to avoid waste.
All in all a very successful day assisting this monumental vaccination program, congrats to all involved.

Another brilliant shift at the Pavillion, helping give out a whopping 470 vaccines in just one afternoon. Today was nearly all people coming for their second doses of Pfizer. We had a few Goodgymmers who were new to the vaccine centre, and everyone did an amazing job. Freddie manned the backdoor and helped people get into taxis to get home safely. Rob and Steven checked on people waiting after their vaccines, and did a great job cleaning up after everyone. Nicola helped out the front, later joined by Steven, while Alice helped show people to their booths. Everyone coming in was in good spirits from such brilliant volunteers outside - lots of smiles and thanks all round. We even finally got a photo inside, with full permission, once everyone else had gone home!

Over 150 children took part in the colour run at Brickfields park in Bath. They were being sponsored by friends and family to raise vital funds for a local school's playground.
Many thanks to Steven and Meyrick for joining the marshal team. Armed with cups full of coloured flour; Steven and Meryrick had one job....to cover the children in coloured flour! Aiming low so as to avoid faces, they painted the children as they ran past.
Here is what the task owner Combe down primary had to say; "Thank you so much for joining the marshalling team at the children's colour run on behalf of Combe down primary. Here is what they had to say;
Thank you so much to all the kind and fun volunteers who helped make the colour run such a success on Sunday. It was truly appreciated and as my son said it was colourfuntastic. You have helped us enormously towards our goals of building a new accessible playground. Thank you again so much”

On a cold Sunday, 5 Goodgymers braved the freezing wind and pouring rain to deliver roast meals on behalf of the Odd down community church.
As it was Valentines day we ensured that heart shaped chocolates made there way into the lunches as a nice treat for the recipients.
Around 30 lunches were delivered in the local area in a matter of minutes. Less meals on wheels, more meals on trainers.
