🏃 14 Intrepid runners braved the slick streets and traffic of Brixton to rescue the 50 meter long planters at Jubilee Primary School from weeds.
Pre-run briefing was delivered by Katie on the lifecycle of mushrooms that she picked up on last Saturday's Community Mission https://www.goodgym.org/reports/well-wasn-t-that-fun-guys
In one patch, once the weeds were cleared, a trove of rock hard potatoes (or possibly large pebbles were unearthed) alongside plastic gardening tools, many pencils, a tennis ball and a small chalk board. These rescued items will be put back to good use!
After 30 solid minutes of work ten black bags stuffed with garden waste were disposed of while part of the group did a quick fitness blast. 🏋
Special shout out to Kaz for daring to go where no one had gone before with his clearing of the outer boundaries and to Jessie who just hit the milestone of 25 Good Deeds !! ⭐
A big thank you to Juan at Jubilee Primary School for equipping us - we will be back to help scrape the old rubber ff the tarmac in the playground 💪 !

Vic Watkins has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Vic is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

13 massive legends met this evening for a run and a good deed.
We were helping out Get Rid Of & Donate (GROAD) with some leafleting to get more people to donate their unused things for rough sleeper and refugee projects.
First, we met at Papa's, welcomed brand-new-to-GoodGym Charlotte, Vic and Nick - 👏👏👏
Then we had our SPOTM prize to give out:
Poster Boy ✉️
The worthy recipient of a foam pig, 2 Brixton Brewery stickers, a “Run Sandringham” buff and a historic Lambeth walks leaflet - Adam! Who has done an incredible about of good over the last month (17 good deeds) across 4 different areas. So good.
After a quick warm up, we ran over to Herne Hill to meet Andrea from GROAD who gave us a load of leaflets and instructed us on the areas to cover.
My group had a pretty easy run up Half Moon Lane (though there was lots of running between some big houses…)
Frances & co had the maze of Delawyck Crescent to navigate (which they think they did successfully?!)
And Nathan’s team ran a bit further, towards Dulwich, though they hit some issues…
Lost Property 🏠
Magda found a good side road to flyer, but when she came back out the others were gone…
Thankfully she turned up back at our meeting point having taken a little diversion so all was fine in the end.
It even gave the rest of us a chance to warm up with some circuits - wall sits, jumping jacks and squats!
We then had a speedy run back to base for some stretches.
Great stuff guys!! 🔥🔥
