Goodgym was back at St Augustine's church in South Croydon.
Peter and Paul from Goodgym were met in the Gardens of St Augustine’s Church by Sue.
A catch up with Sue, and great to hear the additional usage of the Gardens that Sue puts a lot of work in with continuing support from local residents and Goodgym.
A quick start with a little bit of watering a few new plants to be planted. Then on to the tasks for the day: - [ ] Moving and laying two large bags of woodchip - [ ] Fighting back against the autumnal weather (leaves) clearing leaves from the path and car park
Two hours… Two tasks… Two Goodgymmers…
Then it was then time to say good bye to Sue.
Fly away Peter, fly away Paul

The group were greeted at the Croydon Refugee Day Centre by Simon, who informed us of the tasks for the day.
We welcomed Danielle to her first session and also Khai, who was visiting from Greenwich GG.
After a busy day at the centre, the first task was to collect the empty coat hangers from the racks. The second task was to label and hang clothing items. The team completed this swiftly and asked for another task! The third task was to sort children's hats and leggings by size. The final task was a game of clothes rail Tetris, to move all of the clothing rails and boxes into a tiny store cupboard.
Well done team!

With head torches shining bright for our first community mission since the clocks changed, Liz, Ollie and Ingrid joined volunteers from the White Horse Community Garden for a litter pick.
We even found a shopping trolley which helped with transporting the bags to the drop off point.
This was our first visit to the Community Garden and we enjoyed a thankfully rain-free evening with tea and biscuits offered in the hut afterwards.

Another session completed at Merton Food Bank. This time I sorted noodles, pasta, crisps, chocolates, tea and cereals into boxes to prep for the arrival of guests.

Second visit to Mr J. Cleared up more of the garden and stacked all trimmings ready to be removed, to make space for more pruning.

I was greeted by a smiling Mr J who handed me some nice new tools to work on the garden. It was very much overgrown and was blocking the door. The first task was to clear the doorway and steps of weeds and branches to make it accessible then I got on with the larger plants. I am pleased to say that the garden entrance is now accessible however will require another visit or 2 to make all fully accessible and safe.
