Mrs L has looked after her garden all her life. It has been a source of joy and pride. But since her husband passed away and various ailments, it needed some no nonsense Goodgym tlc to get it back to something Mrs L can access again.
Armed with loppers (excellent and can cut through anything bought on sale at Aldi or Lidl), strimmer, and a rake, I managed to clear some paving from overgrown grass, remove most of the weeds, and most importantly remove the self seeded trees that were becoming an issue. I managed to remove most of the roots from one of them too. I managed to fill the garden waste bin after squashing it down and made sure Mrs L was happy. 90 minutes very well spent.
We had a good chin wag over gardening, Scotland, Moss side "back in the day", and about married life. Mrs L seemed really pleased and hopefully will cheer her up now the garden is much more accessible.

I volunteered as a Park Walker at Alexandra Park run. It was a crisp morning with lots of participants. A girl aged 11 was making her 50th Parkrun !! I spoke to a young man who I had spoken to before . He was struggling with his mental health so we chatted and completed the 5k together. We were lucky with the weather as it was dry . What a beautiful start to the weekend.

I volunteered for the afternoon slot at my local School Street . There were not as many drivers but more children and adults . There was lots of chat and happiness as people walked home from school

I volunteered at my local School Street this morning. It was reasonably busy with people but very busy with cars and sadly aggressive drivers. I spoke to several drivers about the importance of driving slowly ! The children and families walking to school had a lovely safe start to their day
