We don't need sophistication,
We don't need no self-control,
Those dark black bin-bags in the storeroom,
Won't get tidy on their own.
Hey, GoodGym!
Treat them bags like stone.
All in all it's just another bag in the wall.
Tracey and I had a frosty run up to the warehouse, then got warm stacking the stock neatly and we had tea from the gang there too. It had warmed up nicely for the gentle run back to Alvaston Park, where the café was most welcome.

DOING GOOD
Following on from our Sunday Special group run in January where we first supported Age UK with their Monthly lunch club, we were back today to help again & in quite similar weather conditions... Anyone remember that soggy run back in Jan?!
Visiting Age UK is always a delight with the smiling volunteers & warm welcome, including a hot brew! & once again the centre was expecting a whopping 46 elderly people from the local community for Sunday lunch. The lunch not only provides a healthy, hot meal, but a social experience for those who may be most at risk of experiencing isolation.
The three of us from GoodGym set about moving the tables & chairs, and laying out cutlery & condiments for the feast - which smelt delicious - whilst volunteers from the YMCA joined in the cooking tasks.
The room was set up in no time & as always, it was time to grab a group photo & leave the Age UK helpers to finish off lunch preparations.
Every second Sunday of the month we'll be back here, supporting the lunch club & enjoying a nice cuppa :) Keep your eyes peeled on the community mission page.

Three of us helped with the preparations for the Chaddesden Park Age UK Centre's lunch club. We were given a cheerful welcome and a drink by the volunteer chefs.
Tracy and Linda were old hands at this task, having it down to a fine art, and showed me the ropes as it was my first Sunday visit (having only been to the centre in the dark before).
We had a good workout moving tables and chairs, and between us we managed a relay triathlon; Tracy ran to the venue, I turned up on my good old bike (Daisy), and Linda went off for a swim afterwards.
Everyone at the centre was extremely appreciative of our help, and the food they were preparing smelt delicious. Thanks to our lovely trainer Dani for organising the event for us.
