Today we were at the Bexley Foodbank helping the manager Gill unload two vans of donated food - mostly pasta and tinned tomatoes - and reorganising crates in the store rooms.
It's been a while since we are last here and it was nice to be back. It was also a good workout, carrying all those crates!
As they say, 'Many hands make light work' and we had the job done in no time.
Crate work everyone!

Today we were back at the Bexley FoodBank, its been a few weeks since we've had a mission there so plenty needed to be done. our biggest job was moving and relocating the pasta whilst also putting it all into date order. It was tough going but a lovely midway tea break saved the day.................

What a glorious morning for a community mission. Today we were at the Bexley Food Bank helping loading vans as they arrived. It was great to get out and meet some of the gang for the first time in a long time and hopefully as the weeks roll on more of us can get out again.
Katrin, Danielle and Nick made it look easy as they loaded the VW up to breaking point 🤪🤪. We Food Bank has also found a new home in Erith so it will be all hands on deck helping them move when the time comes.
Thanks again for all your help today ladies and gents, see ya at the next mission 🙌🏻

Two GoodGymers were back at Bexley Food Bank today, helping move crate-loads of pasta, baked beans, cereals and tea ready for collection by local distributors. Once the van was loaded it was time to sort cereal boxes into date order for future collections... it was "Oat So Simple"!

Three Goodgymmers (Sean, Danielle, Martin) were tasked with sorting, organising and rounding up the crates of cereals at the food bank ready to be loaded up and distributed locally. We gathered the goods outside where they were organised by expiration date, crated up and then labelled ready for Gill and other volunteers to organise onto their next pick up. It involved lots of lifting and peeping at barcodes for best by dates but together with other regular volunteers we made light work of a seemingly gargantuan task and even made room for a cheeky outdoors tea break and a socially distanced natter before the rain set in. Great effort guys! (and sorry forgot to take photos so an old sweaty one of me will have to suffice unless anyone else did!)
