It's always fun helping out at Deen City Farm as we get to visit the animals and support the team with practical jobs. This afternoon Goodgym members from Merton, Wandsworth, Croydon and Ealing stopped by to help decorate for the Barn Dance.
It was great to see some new faces and chat a little as we got busy with bunting, gazebo building, and plenty of creative touches to make the venue look yeeee-ha!
Congratulations to Steve on your first Goodgym task and we hope to see everyone again very soon.

2 large bags filled by 3 Good Gymers picking up all the litter left on paths to Deen city farm. Great to remove plastic and bottles harming the wildlife

it was a bright and breezy day down at Deen City Farm, with lots of families arriving for Easter activities (such as animal life drawing with a very cooperative chicken). Roxanne asked us to concentrate on the areas surrounding the farm, such as the car park and the pathways so, dressed in hi viz and armed with pickers, we cracked on and soon filled three large rubbish sacks. Afterwards we took time to meet the lambs, goats, pot-bellied pigs and other animals. This is an udderly lovely place to help out, so we hope to return soon.

Sunshine greeted us at Deen City Farm today for which we were extremely grateful given the number of baubles that needed to be collected outside!
We also tackled the various Christmas trees that needed to be taken down and bagged these up like bodies, ready to be stored away.
It was great to catch up properly over a coffee in the cafe afterwards.

After our elf clothing fitting we were introduced to the other elves, Anabel and Scott, who were already greeting the visitors arriving at Santa's grotto. The sun was shining (in December) and we were suitably dressed (underneath our costumes) to enjoy being outside - each taking it in turns to check in the guests and play photographer/give out presents.
Mid session we switched out and it did get a bit chilly as it started to rain but we kept warm elfing around and waving at the kids as they waited patiently to meet Santa. What an amazing festive task to support with and we are looking forward to helping out at Deen City Farm again soon... especially if there are costumes ;)!
