So we returned today during day light hours to collect all the litter that people who use the car park once The Centre is shut dump behind!
So many carrier bags full of empty cans plus alcohol bottles and take away boxes.
There was litter everywhere!
Between Pam and I we collected 7 bagfuls plus 4 plastic containers, and a trolley full of helium cannisters.

Did you see the weather earlier this evening! It was touch and go if we could even get to our meet up point as the rain was so hazardous!
So with some phone calls to those signed up a quick change of plan was formulated!
We decided to meet at the task location incase we needed a quick get away.
The task itself was a straight forward litter pick of the car park. No training as such is needed for this task - you just pick it up as you go.
And boy was there a lot to pick!
Nine bags fulls!
Well done to Meera, Sut and Lauren for risking the rain but as usual... it rarely rains on us as we do our tasks! Not a drop in sight... unless you count the booze in the drinks bottles.
With no run today we decided to do a med ball fitness session instead..
We had slams, halos, presses, curls and taps! Well done Meera and Lauren!

Tonights task was to help Everyone Active at The Centre with a much needed litter pick.
The Centre is a very popular fitness centre and with a large car park it does attract a lotta litter!
So after a call with the Area Manager who needed our help in clearing the car park we managed to squeeze in 2 visits over the past few weeks. Last time we collected one dozen bags and today it was doctors orders with 9!
#BeLikeJean
Today was also a special birthday for a special lady. Jean had spent her 88th birthday with a celebratory lunch at The Ivy in Windsor followed by a litter pick with us lot! How many 88 year olds could possibly do this??
We did manage to get Jean to blush though as we approached random strangers in the car park and asked if they would join us in singing Jean 'happy birthday'!
Jean found herself some balloons and a recharge unit to give her a further 88 years
Happy Birthday to our most loved GG member!
Don't be a bean.. keep Slough clean
Thankfully the car park was a litter bit better than our last visit so it goes to show that people tend to litter more when there is already rubbish there!
However, we still had plenty of junk to slam dunk!
Lauren found a whole new outfit;
Sutyee found a fan!;
Abdulaziz found plenty of fizzy drinks and
Jean got herself plenty of birthday drinks, takeouts and balloons!
45 mins in and we pretty much cleared the car park... around all the parked cars!

Wowzers! how bad did this car park look before we cleared it!
Cans, vodka bottles, those pesky little sniffing cannisters, takeaway containers... clearly a good night of eating and drinking !
It was an hour of tough work yet we collected 12 bagfuls of rubbish!

Our first Monday evening back doing our Group Runs and Good Deeds and it felt great!
A warm welcome back to Monday nights to all our regular runners and 4 new runners today – Colin, Lois, Ela and Katarzyna. Great to have you on board, even if we did ‘pick up’ Ela and Katarzyna in the park and highjacked their run to come join us.
This evenings task was to help our sporting counterparts at Everyone Active with a spot of dusting of windows and sills, giving everyone a better view on life.
As the task location was a hop, skip and jump away, we decided to add to our January miles by running a few extra km’s around Salt Hill Park. A nice steady lap following by a bit of Fartlek running for good measure. Chris was adding to his miles by running around every tree he could find!
After 20 minutes we made our way to Montem Sports Centre and met with the Duty Manager Rimmi who gave us our brief and tools to hurt that dirt
As always we don't hang around and straight away got to work to bust that dust, dividing into two teams and taking a floor each. Not sure the gym users knew what hit them with this glass act.
Meera nearly lost her rag at the amount of dust build up there was and as usual Sut and Ela were cracking jokes as they quickly and efficiently dusted almost everything in sight (including a few gym users)
As we were in a sports centre, it could only mean one thing after our good deed – A Fitness Session! Everyone Active were kind enough to give us access to one of their fitness halls so we eagerly made our way to the room to get started!
With one round of balance work followed by one round of agility work (and repeat), the runners were ready to hit a bar (or maybe me!). Extra squat exercises were added in at Chris’ request, Darren was working on his inner Mr Miyagi moves and Sandy had perfectly perfected the runner drives by turning them into dance moves. Great effort by everyone.
The chat soon turned to future runs (of which the next 4 weeks’ worth are on the system, including our parkrun takeover), so please have a look.
The next social has been requested! Watch this space. I’m sure we can find something to celebrate
You guys totally smashed it tonight - well done!
Next week we are running to Wexham Park Hospital. A nice 4km each way and litter pick task.
Have a great week
