This week saw us help out two charities. One was Faithworks Wessex, helping them promote through a flyer drop, a free event they are holding for the community to help those affected by addictions. The other charity was Abbeyfield Wessex who look after a number of senior living buildings in Bournemouth.
We welcomed back Jodie with open arms! She hadn't been since way before Christmas so it was great to have her back. She went back home last week and was able to be part of the Newcastle launch too! Great to have you back, hope you can make it regularly!
David was also back in Bournemouth again so like any normal person he joined up with us straight away! Excellent!
The flyer drop route took us along the Prom and all the fitness levels were catered to, three or four led the way and we were scattered in two and threes catching up on the weeks events and gossip from trips and life.
We started our synchonised drop soon after and only managed to temporarily lose Lee and Caprice...everything else went according to plan!! 300 flyers dropped for each charity and still had time to pose for team photos on our way back and do our stretch in time for 8pm!!! No cut fingers, no rabid dogs or dodgy people either....very peaceful! Even had some Bournemouth Uni students and kids cheer us on!!!
Thank you Lee for the photos!! Abi and Andrea, despite not feeling great managed to still turn up!! Next week we are doing some fence painting which should be lots of fun!
If you are around come on down!!!!
Well done everyone!!

**>Today we broke our Group Run distance record....sorry if you missed it!
11km of total goodness!
We welcomed Sarah to her first ever group run! And she did amazingly well! Her previous best distance was 10km so we are glad to have been part of her record breaking feat!! Well done Sarah! Look forward to seeing you next week so you can see how well Slades Farm has developed since you helped set it up! And it will definitely be a shorter distance...unless we get lost! HAhAHAHAHHAa
This week we went back to help out at Faithworks a charity helping people in crisis and isolation. Totally up our street! Great people who have already housed 49 people this year alone!
They needed to have a spring clean at their office and we were more than happy to help. After a bit of delay in getting the keys the gang managed to quickly zoom through the list of things that needed doing. The lovely note and reward of biscuits was enough to keep us motivated!
Because of the delay we only had 15mins to do everything on the list....well we did manage all of it but didn't have a mop...so the mop let us down...we'll be sending it a letter of complaint!
The way back was a bit of a challenge as we had a strong wind against us...one of the down sides of running along the prom...beautiful views and sounds and fresh air...but very strong fresh air!
We made it back in one piece, Andrea leading the way...looking in great shape for her 10km race this Sunday at the bay Run in Bournemouth!
Lots of other runners too so we hope you have e agreat time and beat some PBs!!!
See you all next week for some gardening!!!

8 runners ran 11km! to help local charity Faithworks
Another lovely sunny day on the south coast as we gathered our strength for a mammoth 11Km!
A big welcome to Sophie and Liane who put in a massive effort on their first GoodGym adventure.
The gang snaked our way towards the seafront, dodging day-trippers ,buggies and random dogs. A quick regroup while I collected the keys for our task enabled Neil to put the group through some limbering up! A big effort followed through Boscombe towards our task which saw us cleaning the offices for local charity Faithworks. Andrea quickly got to grips with the hoovering while Neil and Jenni dusted for Britain. Liane made short work of the kitchen while Abi's window cleaning put Sinbad to shame!(Brookside fans anonymous) Sophie sorted out the kitchen table and Daryl headed straight for the loo.....although at some point i think there may have been a fight with a mop ?
Task done, we headed back out into the blazing sun, with song breaking out as we headed towards the seafront!
A quick hello to the goats and we swept back into town ,all quite relieved to be back to base with a fantastic distance covered. An awesome effort by all ....well done!
See you next week :)
