All I want for Christmas is a green t-shirt

Saturday 20th December

Written by Ben Foster

Thank you to the 18 volunteers today!

With the festive break coming up, we had a skeleton crew at Fletcher Moss parkrun event number 276. 317 runners and walkers completed the 5 km course. Thankfully additional volunteers came along before the start.

There was a little bit of mud getting the kit out but the event itself went by without a hitch.

It was my 250th parkrun volunteering credit so made some cake for the finish area. There were lots of santas and grinches out running the course.

RDs assemble

Saturday 13th December

Written by Ben Foster

Juno and I went to help with marshalling and the set up/clear down at Fletcher Moss parkrun event number 275. 364 runners and walkers completed the 5 km course.

Rare occasion that all of the RD team were available to run, walk, or volunteer so was a good occasion to get a photo. Joined Didsbury runners for their Christmas quiz and coffee afterwards. Lots of mud on quite a nice morning.

Blown away

Saturday 15th November

Written by Ben Foster

Managed to get a full roster of volunteers for the Saturday morning. Storm Claudia on Friday night and Saturday morning brought lots of wind and rain with it. Early course check at 7am and met with the Environmental agency who had closed the park due to partial flooding, so cancelled the parkrun. Storm debris on the course but park reopened at about 10am.

I'll be back next week.

Saturday 25th October

Written by Ben Foster

Hazel and Ben went to help out at Fletcher Moss parkrun event number 269. 492 runners and walkers completed the 5 km course, with lots of puddles, mud, and slippery leaves providing a pleasant autumn 🍂 backdrop.

Hazel was marshal at Cheat's Corner to ensure the participants completed 2 laps of the top field, while Ben helped with some of the set up and carried out the First Timers Welcome/Briefing.

Lovely morning with Juno providing ample support 🐶

Hoarse from the course

Saturday 27th September

Written by Ben Foster

409 runners ran or walked the 5 km course at event number 266 at Fletcher Moss. I was Run Director so just about managed to get enough volunteers, and did the 1st timers briefing, set up, main briefing, and results processing. I'm now slightly hoarse from the briefing and funnel managing.

Thank you to the 16 volunteers who enabled the event to go ahead. Juno was marshal on the course and found a massive stick 🌳
