Two members of Coventry Goodgym supported Foleshill United Reformed Church with the upkeep of their peaceful and extensive grounds.
Lil and Katherine dug up a patch of grass and nettles around some historic graves. Unfortunately, in doing so, we did have to contend with some angry red ants who weren’t so keen on our hard work digging up their home. We soon managed to placate them and get them moved into a barrow to be relocated to the wild area of the site. In the future, the area around the graves will be covered with stones to keep it looking tidy.
It’s always lovely to revisit this church and support them with keeping on top of their beautiful gardens as it provides a real oasis to the community in the heart of the city. We hope to back in the future to provide further assistance.

What a lovely morning for our return to Foleshill URC to support them with a grounds tidy.
The sun shone down as 3 members of GoodGym Coventry supported their volunteers in clearing paths and the car park of twigs and other debris.
In around two hours, there was barely a misplaced twig in sight.

Today, Lil and Graeme went to Foleshill United Reformed Church to help them maintain their grounds.
We set to work sorting out all the hedge cuttings and sweeping up the leaves. After a few hours work and a few snacks, the grounds and perimeter hedge looked much tidier.
We look forward to returning in the spring.

On a sunny Saturday morning, Some GoodGymmers ran, cycled and made their way to a new community mission at Foleshill URC. Over the summer months, a small team of volunteers had been trying to maintain the large grounds and had asked for our help, via the lovely Helen at the Social Supermarket. It was a pleasure to support in hedge trimming, weeding, path and car park tidying on lovely sunny day. Hopefully we will return to support them on another weekend.
