Last night we walked/ jogged our way to Longford Park to do a litter pick. Once arrived, we headed through the park picking as we went.
We spotted quite a bit of rubbish in the kids playground so we hopped in there and sorted that out nicely.
After that, Nikki spotted the hens at Pets Corner who were keeping an eye on our efforts. We realised it was still open so we litter picked our way round there and met some of the volunteers (and residents including two goats and some ducks!).
Keep your eye out for a future mission involving our new furry and feathered friends!
We made our way to our last stop, bagged up and then chatted all the way feeling most chuffed.
Well done and thanks everyone!

Last night we were overjoyed to be back running the streets of Trafford safely on our first group run for a very long time.
We met at St Ms as usual (had a chat with Helen the Manager and saw Red the dog bouncing all over) and then headed off after our warmup at a steady clip to Longford.
Once there brandishing our brand new litter pickers, we set about tidying up the park, getting some more steps in and chatting amongst ourselves and to members of the public who were really pleased to see us in action.
Weirdest finds were a sad looking football and a teeny tiny plastic spidey with a rather sinister glare.
Shout out to Althea who although has been attending various missions over the past 6 months or so, had not yet been on a group run! Congrats on your first!
Well done to us!
Our next run is to help breathe some life back into a residents' Community garden in Stretford. Head over to our home page and remember, if you're attending please click to sign up!

A fellow goodgymer and myself from Trafford GoodGym plus my son cleared litter from Longford Park after the Stretford parkrun. It was a first for Gabriel both for the parkrun and using a litter picker!! The goodgymer also mastered using the litter picker whilst discussing making a bid for dragon’s den as to how we could keep the bin bags open whilst picking!! The most interesting item found was a miniature bottle of Jack Daniels . The morning was lovely for the 1st of February.
