5 Goodgymers met at the Produce Hall to go deliver some flyers for Home instead. A famous map was drawn up, the first in a while! This time a very detailed map I might add, it was clear we knew where we were going..... So off we set, after a few stretches we set off over to Cheadle to post as many leaflets about the wonderful community cafe's as possible. We had the same task a few weeks back, but because we are promoting 4 different locations we wanted to get to another area. This weeks task location was just over 3km, so was a nice pace and distance, the weather was good and so were our moods, because it had stopped raining! Hurraah. As well as posting leaflets we were planning to Christmas tree count, but there were non! How sad, we did some pretty lights though. I think I got a bit to excited to be fair.
This weeks task felt A.mazing because for once we actually managed to post ALL the flyers in the time set, which is FAB as there were only 5 of us and lots of flyers, so well done us.
After the task had finished it was time to head back to the Produce Hall, we needed to warm up slightly so hit the hills a bit more paceful, everyone was hungry and there was a lot of chat about food, id like to mention here that I didn't choke on my soup this week.....
When we arrived back we were surrounded by Christmas trees, so we did a little stretch off, then everyone set off in high spirits to go eat the food they had talked about, yum.
As ever, it was a lovely evening, with lovely people, running and doing good, fab work folks, Till next time.........

Well tonight there were only 2 Goodgym runners out in force watching fireworks while flyering! Setting off from the Produce Hall, Anne and myself tootled through Stockport over to the Portwood area of the town to post out leaflets promoting 4 seperate community social events for 'homeinstead'
We have flyered in the past for home instead, and we will be again in a few weeks time to spread the word of the amazing activies, and social groups they have going on for the community. Tonights flyer was promoting 4 different friensdship cafes around Stockport, ranging from Cheadle to Edgeley portwood and more.......
Even thought there were only 2 of us tonight, we still sparkled through the task, between us we posted at least 100 flyers, amd if you want to do the same we will be back promoting the same 4 cafes next time in the cheadle/edgely area.
Thanks Anne for being such great company. Also well done to Hannah this week who completed her first ever ultra run......good going Lady!
Dont forget its the official Goodgym Party on Friday, down in London Town, check out the website if you fancy popping along.
Check out what we're up to next week, its slightly different, we will be driving to the location and running from there for a bit!

At last we got to distribute the flyers for** Homeinstead!!** Its been a few weeks of bad rain here in sunny Stockport so we have had to have a few quick changes which involved knitting mini hats and litter picking.
But tonight was the night, *it happened! * 8 lovely runners met at Grand central Lifelesiure at 6.30pm, we had a shaking start that involved a quick shoe swap, but then we got cracking.
We had a little warm up, set up running devices, had a number count and shout and off we set.
This week we were promoting the wonderful work of Home Instead in Stockport, they have collated lots of activities that happen in the area weekly, classes from tai-chi, to art classes, to simply having a coffee and catch up, the classes are aimed at making the local community a more involved place, where people can meet and enjoy each others company and hopefully make new friendships, just like we do here at Goodgym!
Between us we posted the full box of flyers, this time we headed towards Davenport/Cale green area to promote. We posted in homes, sheltered accomadation, a few shops and take aways to make the most impact.
Id like to have a few shout outs this week, firstly well done to Pete for beating the train! good going dude. well done to the handful of us (including my 2 kids) who attended Burnage Parkrun this week, it was great running with you all, my kids loved meeting you, and well done to Martin who came 2nd, he was running faaaast in the zone.
Also tonight it was fab to meet Lizzie a tourist goodgymer from Ipswitch and newbie Vicky who did just wonderful listening to me jibber on about all sorts, but mainly dogs! thanks for joining us. And Debs, take lots of photos in the Big Apple!! have a fab time
Have a wonderful week of running, next week were doing a spot of gardening,
see you soon,

8 runners joined us tonight to run 5km and deliver flyers for Home Instead.
It was a warm one, it wasn't blaring sunshine but we were hot on our heels and built up a sweat.........
We ran from Lifeleisure at the usual 6.30pm, after a warm up we set off to the Cheadle/Adswood border where Home instead had asked us to promote the services they provide. The leaflets have vital information containing 80+ social activities for adults in the Stockport area, these include cooking, gardening, fitness classes or just a coffee club, the leaflets are a great source of information letting people know what services are out there for them to socialise and get involved. I didn't realise there was so much happening in the area, and this is just 1 of 4 areas, so it was great to get out and spread the word.
Welcome Kate, thanks for joining us on your first run you did really well and it was great to meet you. Also well done Martin for your 50th good deed and your black t-shirt, we mentioned it a few weeks ago, but tonight we celebrated with some chocolates so its worth another mention.
This week a few of us are heading over to Sheffield for a Goodgym party, feel free to join us! We are pub plogging, which involves cleaning up the city with a few pub stops between, perfect eh!! see the website for the link.
Lastly a few of us are running the Manchester 10k or the Manchester half on May the 19th in support of The Wellspring Homeless centre in Stockport, there are no half places left but still 10k slots, visit website at www.thewellspring.co.uk for more information.
Thanks everyone for running with me last night, you made me get through it! hahaha,
Happy running, until next week,
