When a catch up is in order there's always time for a litter pick. We donned our jackets and took on Canon Hill Common, collecting rubbish and debris as we wandered. Receiving positive responses from local residents along the way it was a reminder of the positive impact and to do more often.

During a lunchtime stroll around the common, Georgina (fresh from knee surgery!) and I managed a mini litter pick. We gathered a small bag of rubbish, proving that every little bit helps, and a great way to catch up and ease back into action.

Over a cuppa and some delicious cake, some fantastic new contacts were made whilst spreading the word about our Missions with DBS-checked volunteers now ready to support individuals aged 50+ with practical tasks across Merton.

A quick bit of litter picking on today's travels!
Edit from other volunteers: Elsewhere various Goodgymmers from Merton, Kingston and Barnet joined in to support The Great British Spring Clean Up - what a great weekend and reason to get outside, we encourage everyone to get involved locally to help, this event is running until 6 April although why not continue with regular litter picking efforts whenever you can. more details here: https://www.keepbritaintidy.org/get-involved/support-our-campaigns/great-british-spring-clean

Lovely morning for a litter pick, pre downpour. I bumped into the rubbish men en-route round the park, who offered me a job! Thankfully they took the full bag of rubbish I'd collected, replacing it with a new one which I half filled on the return to base.
Elsewhere others had also bin getting in on the task!
