I Volunteered providing a friendly welcome and support the induction of NHS staff to the hospital taking place at the O2. From 15 April 2020 to 29 May 2020

As we all need some good news, I think the news of Nightingale Hospital being on standby is a hopeful one. As the remaining patients are gonna be transferred, my morning shift as a volunteer medical staff check-in assistant was my last one.

Simon signed up as a medical staff sign-in volunteer with Team London (in collaboration with Goodgym) at the Nightingale Hospital based at the Excel Centre. His role involved setting up a information desk, marking down which Doctors, Nurses and Care Workers were starting their shifts and helping new starters to find the correct department (from a safe distance). We also distributed PPE and safety equipment to the medical staff as they attended their morning briefing (they helped themselves to avoid unnecessary contact).
