Walled community garden & orchard worked by volunteers as part of Heeley City Farm's Local Food activities.
Norfolk Park Walled Garden is one of several sites run by Heeley City Farm 's (HCF) Local Food projects. Fruit, veg and flowers are grown for community benefit; some are taken by volunteers, some go for sale at HCF and the remainder is found a home via food banks or other community food projects. The garden is also a place for teaching & learning about gardening & food growing via informal learning or formal courses. HCF's bee keeper sites several of the bee hives in the garden so some of the garden is managed with the bees in mind as well as people. In addition, plants are propagated in the garden for sale at HCF's garden centre or for HCF's other food growing sites which don't have the facilities or space to propagate all of their own plants.
