The famous 5 met at the Oadby Youth Club for another clearing session. This has been ongoing for the past weeks to clear and make accessible a patio area.
The 5 set to with loppers, spades and secateurs to finally clear through to the neighbouring cemetery. Mel and Lynn started work on an area at the side of the youth club whilst the boys continued clearing and making steps up to the cleared area.
A welcome cuppa was made by the steward and biscuits for Stu!
The Goodgymers have really enjoyed this task and hope the youth club users will start to use the area.

Six Goodgymers made a return journey to the Oadby Youth Club last night. A really lovely task making an overgrown area into a place where some of the many users of the youth club can access.
It didn’t take long for the team to set about the undergrowth with saws, loppers, rakes and hands to clear another section.
Jimmy started to make a wall using the cut off branches which will still provide homes for the birds, inhabitants and insects .
A welcome cuppa and biscuits were provided by the caretaker before the team were hard at it again. A really good task and I’m sure the Goodgym team will be back.

Six Goodgymers made a second evening visit to Oadby Youth Club.. We welcomed Clare to her first Goodgym event. Huw had been dropped off a couple of miles away from the task so he could run the last bit of his journey, having already done his training session in the morning. This time we were clearing the patio space at the back of the club and the bank behind it. There were a lot of brambles and overhanging trees which made it a very rewarding task to see the difference we had made. We then cleared the grass, soil and moss off the slabs. Many builders bags were filled with the cuttings. The youth club produced the cups of tea and were very happy with the improvement we had made.

Five Goodgymmers went to tidy the gardens at Oadby Youth Club. Fortunately regular gardener Stu had brought his garden shed of tools so we could tackle everything the task threw at us. We uncovered the path, cleared the weeds and tidied the path outside that was very overgrown. They host many daytime community groups throughout the week as well as the Youth Club in the evenings, so many members of the community will appreciate our efforts.
