It was the important life questions occupying us last night as we sorted and categorised donations for the OX4 Food Crew Community Party pre-loved market.

The OX4 Food Crew is an alliance of 9 grassroots organisations who have come together to help tackle food insecurity in OX4. They are having their first ever Community Party on Friday afternoon, and one part of that will be a stall selling pre-loved items to raise money for OX4 Food project.

GoodGym were asked to sort through the donated items, check them over for safety/cleanliness and categorise them.

As always, many hands make light work of big tasks, and we managed to finish by 7pm and have a lovely 4 mile run post-task.

The OX4 Community Party is taking place on Friday 16th February, 2:30-4:30pm at the Old Schoolhouse on Hertford Street, OX4 3AJ.

The OX4 Free Food Crew works with Waste 2 Taste at the Ark T Centre to provide cooked meals to people in need in the OX4 community. I just hop on my bike, go and pick up the meals and deliver them to addresses in OX4. This time I delivered 9 portions to 3 addresses in OX4.

I picked up 12 meals from Flo’s Cafe in Florence Park and delivered them to 3 households in OX4 and OX1. Today’s menu: baked potato with bean and quorn relish and salad. It was a lovely day to pootle around Oxford on my bike.

OX4 Free Food put out an SOS at lunchtime for people to deliver free meals today. Bethan and I figured we could help out if we collaborated: Bethan dashed to Flo’s Cafe to collect the food before they closed after her Community Mission at the Children’s Allotment. She then brought it over to me at Oxford Mutual Aid, and once my OMA food bank Community Mission was over I delivered meals to 4 addresses on my way home.

Between us we delivered 11 meals to 4 households.
