Pack Away Package Free

Thursday 7th November

Written by Dave M

Sadly Package Free Larder have had to close their doors today.

But that did mean all hands on deck to get the racking, food and bits & bobs packed up to go to some new homes.

We were given the task of clearing the basement storage which was done in exceptional timing that our hosts had to keep finding new jobs for us. Team GG are nothing if not speed demons!!

Once all the items were loaded into the vehicles we bid a sad farewell to the Larder. But nit without promising to be first on hand if they're able to reopen elsewhere in the future. Until we meet again Package Free.

Leave only footprints

Saturday 24th April 2021

Written by Katie Carew-Robinson (she/her)

The Package Free Larder had some leaflets left over from their launch last year (April 2020, what a time to open!) and thought it would be good to use them to spread the word around town. What better way to do it than by the power of the GoodGym footsteps!

The distribution network went as follows:

  • Katie L - Old Portsmouth, dockyard, John Pounds Centre, Portsmouth Musuem. Gunwharf businesses weren't too receptive!

  • Nick & Maxine - Southsea: Elm Grove, Albert Road, Highland Road, Palmerston Road

  • Katie C-R - Commercial Rd - shout out to Hideout and Canvas Coffee who took a good batch of leaflets and were well up for promoting other small businesses. I also popped some in to North End library when I was in the area!

  • Judy - Eastney / Bransbury Park / Milton

  • Jen - Fratton

Plenty of steps were taken in the distributing of the leaflets, living our motto - do good, get fit!

(I was very naughty when I went to pick them up and I wasn't wearing my GG t-shirt... my excuse is that it was a cold day! - Also I didn't know the cameras would be out!)
