4 GoodGymers have supported Paving the Way with 1 task.

Today four of us used our Sunday morning to support Slough community group Paving the Way to clear an overgrown space for a community event with local group Ali's Academy. It was a scorcher- the sun was definitely shining on us. After Sut, Sara and I had done our bit marshalling at Junior Park Run we met fellow goodgymmer Ruth and the Paving the way team at the task.
Our tasks included: * weeding * cutting * moving wood * litter picking * lawn mowing and even a go at the strimmer
Ruth got going with the weeds, she couldn't leaf them alone. Sara got her roots done. Sut was swept away clearing the nettles. Thistle be the end of them.
We moved logs and litter picked till our heart was content. It's funny what you find when you litter pick; today's best find was a car number plate. We had ants but no Adam...
We chopped the ivy and turned the ground, we made sure we were careful as we moved around.
The lawn mower and strimmer made light work, it is always such a good feeling to see the before and after of a space and what a few people can do in a short time.
What's a plants favourite music? Heavy nettle
I really like that gardening show... Yeah it really grows on you
What do you call a fancy ant? Eleg*ant*
Thank you to everyone who helped out today and many thanks to Paving the Way and Ali's Academy for the task.
Slough Goodgym run every Monday from Salt Hill Activity Centre. Our next session is tomorrow where we will be litter picking along Slough Riverside .
