Gwyn and Tracey welcomed visitors to the East Meets West exhibition at the Format23 festival. It was a little quieter this week, with members of the public rather than student groups, and we enjoyed chatting to everyone about the exhibits.
This marks our final volunteering session with the festival for this year, but we hope to remain in touch with the organisers and help out again for future sessions - it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Thanks to Gwyn, who treated me to supper in Quad as a celebration of my 200th good deed.

Gwyn and Tracey volunteered at the Paper Geographies exhibition in Derbion. This featured the work of five different artists, and included the story of a tree named Frank.
The morning session was rather quiet, and we were in direct competition with a dancing dinosaur and Greggs, both seeming to be more tempting to the general public. However, everyone that came inside enjoyed the exhibition, and some had tales to tell about their own photography experiences.

Gwyn and Tracey were set for a four-hour session of welcoming visitors to the photobook exhibition in Derby's City Lab, but it turned out that the premises owners needed the building for a meeting, so we closed after two and half hours then whizzed around the other venues to ensure that other volunteers didn't signpost people to City Lab.

Tracey and I stewarded the photo book exhibition at Format23 at City Lab. After a loud start by setting off the burglar alarm, we were quiet for a while and then had some large groups enjoying the books. Tracey went to Birds to get lunch, which included an elephant's foot. Mmmm. City Lab's kettle was valued too!
