Albeit it a little of a late start as some of us got a little lost (me included!), Dave, Gemma, Martin and I met with lovely Michael who informed us that the front 2 beds needed a complete overall of weeding, after a lovely little chat of course.
We got to work with our tools in hand and our wheelbarrow at the ready as this was not our first time gardening - we were pretty much pros at this stage. While having a good chinwag about the upcoming festivities and catching up with each other (although Martin and I had only saw each other this morning!), we finished the first bedding and moved on to the next.
Within an hour or so, the task was completed and both beds had been weeded for a blank new canvas ready for the new plants and flowers to bloom the next spring.
We said goodbye to Michael for now, as I am sure we will be coming back shortly to help with more tasks. Watch this space!

It's the coldest day of the winter. It's just started raining. Your task has just cancelled on you as there were crossed wires about timings. Everything is telling you to cancel and stay home in the warm - problem is GG Cardiff & Vale isnt listening!
A backup deed was hastily scheduled with Rumney Partnership Hub, to clear the Hub grounds of litter and head out to the surrounding streets to litter pick.
Lucy (getting in the kms before Ibiza) Nathan and Darren (keen for kms toward their 1000km target for the year) set off east from the city centre to meet up with Fiona, Charlotte, Marie and Aimee, who had made their way separately. The unofficial GGC&V headwear was greatly appreciated given the weather (you can bag yourself one at the next GG group run ready for your own winter good deeds).
Not disheartened by the weather and initial cancelled task the group quick made progress picking up (almost every) piece of litter in sight. The streets almost sparkled once the group had finished with them.
Bang Bang Bang goes the starters gun - as the group raced off home, with another good deed complete
