Daryl and Caprice met with new member Eleanor at King's Park Boscombe. A massive welcome to Eleanor who had heard about GoodGym from a friend who volunteers with GoodGym Leeds. After a mini group run to the property they were met by Miss E. Like always Miss E was so welcoming and got the guys all set up ready for he painting sesh! This time rollers were provided which made a massive difference to the finish. So much so Daryl got to work rolling the doors that we painted last time. Good work Daryl! Eleanor and Caprice got to work painting the frames followed by some roller action. Time flew by and they were finished in no time at all. Eleanor and Daryl gave the equipment a good clean and soak in white spirit, Caprice gave the floor a clean. They said there goodbyes and left, mission accomplished! Next week the GoodGym gang will be visiting their good friends at Abbeyfield Wessex Care home for their monthly quiz. See you there!

Cyclist Sue and runner Marianne met Dot from the charity Safe and Sound in Southbourne and we were tasked with loading a variety of filing cabinets, coffee tables, a book case and boxes of books into Dots van.
I got in the van with Dot while Sue cycled to meet us (and she beat us!) at The Well Cafe in Boscombe and we had a good bit of exercise unloading and moving the items downstairs to the basement. We managed to unload everything in our alotted time and Dot was very happy and grateful for our help. Sue and I went off our separate ways knowing we had done a good deed and our muscles proved their worth haha.
Next week (Tuesday 5th) we are doing a litter pick of Durley Chine, please join us if you can!

Dot from the charity Safe and sound, Sue and I met outside the St Georges Church in Boscombe and soon set to work loading boxing from the foodbank into Dots van.
We made short work of the boxes containing clothes (and some random xmas stuff) and Sue and I walked the few minutes over to the cafe where Dot needed the clothes moved to a downstairs room. One trip with the van was enough to get it all moved and Sue and I got plenty of exercise doing stairs!
Dot was very happy with our help and we may well be needed for some more tasks in the future. Sue and I had a little chat and then we parted ways and we both felt good for helping out. The cafe in the Royal Arcade is opening on the 1st March, so do pop in for a coffee if you have the chance!
