I went along and helped out Saltwell junior parkrun this morning. It was my first time as Run Director so it felt like a big achievement.
I made sure I was prepared with my briefing at the start, and said to the juniors that the most important thing was to enjoy it and have fun. Whether it be walking, skipping or hopping around the course.
I had a brilliant morning and really enjoyed it thanks to the support from other volunteers.

We had a lovely morning at Saltwell junior parkrun.
I was joined by Debbie, Tanya, Anji, Paul, Aimee and Michael as we helped with a number of roles including timekeeping, funnel manager and marshaling.
Congratulations to Michael on reaching 100 GOOD DEEDS! Such a brilliant achievement. It was a double celebration as I managed to reach my 100th time volunteering at parkrun.
Afterwards, we enjoyed catching up in the Cafe. Ruth, one of the run directors treated myself to a coffee and a cheese scone to say thank you which was a lovely suprise.
We all sat enjoying chatting about all sorts from the upcoming GoodGym bake sale to swimming in the sea and triathlons!
(Thank you to Anji for taking photos as I completely forgot!)
Everyone is welcome to join in the Community Mission tomorrow evening (litter pick)
Also very exciting, is our Bake Sale on Saturday 3rd December at Stepney Bank Stables 10am-1pm. Absolutely everyone is welcome whether you can bake, help for even half an hour, or simply drop by on the day and support us. All proceeds will be donated to Eastend Foodbank.
