Continuing our task from last week the wonderful Hammersmith and Fulham crew help to deliver flyers to promote a new furniture reuse charity shop on Dawes Road called Furnish.
After a little warm up we headed over to the shop to see the outside. From there we split into two teams one delivering flyers around West Brompton and the other south of Dawes Road.
After a speedy delivery of all the flyers we met up in Lillie Road Rec for a look at our running technique.
Today's focus: * Posture - remember the helium balloon holding your head up * Arms - keeping them at a nice right angle and not crossing the body * Knees - practice knee drive and high knees
Next, we put that technique in to practice by having the two teams from earlier compete in a two minute relay. Plain clothes won!
Which technique will you focus on this week?
Happy running,
PSB,

Furniture Fitness
This was week 1 of 2 helping spread awareness of a new furniture reuse charity shop in Fulham called Furnish. Run by Shepherds Bush Housing Group, this shop sells second hand furniture and other vintage items which provides an income to help run some of the other areas of Staying First, including our debt and welfare advice service.
You take the high road and I'll take the low
After a warm-up the group was split into two. One to cover the area just south of Hammersmith near Baron's Court and another pounded the streets just to the right of Lillie Road Recreational Ground.
Both teams did a fantastic job of posting these promos up and down the street. Only slowed by quaint garden gates and "No junk mail" signs.
The GGers came in two by two, hurrah hurrah
Everyone met up afterwards in Lillie Road Rec for a strength building fitness session. This started with a couple of partner exercises: Wheelbarrow press-ups, jump squats, double bridge lifts, foot to foot bicycle crunches. Next, individually we did planks facing down and up and side to side. Then finishing up with seated leg raises.
The group put in an amazing effort, had a wonderful attitude to the evening and left smiling. Well done everyone.
Thanks to Clare who came to visit H&F for the first time and came up with this fantastic and appropriate pun. We'll be doing a longer run next week flyering again for Shepherds Bush Housing Group.
