Beautiful sunny morning at the Garden House, Marple. Lisa and I, along with a very dedicated team of feathered friends!, transformed the raised beds from a carpet of weeds to fresh soil. One large hen ‘Beatrice’ with a healthy appetite for worms became our close companion! We mucked in and topped it off with some fresh manure all ready for planting up! Was great to see so many young families enjoying the nature and farm animals there. Nice! : )

The Garden House Marple has become a regular Sunday session and we are chipping away at the vegetation patch of the farm, transforming it ready for the planting to begin.
Today's task was to move the earth in the raised vegetable beds. We dug, we raked and we overturned. We think we succeeded!
We're looking forward to more sessions and seeing the transformation unfold, week after week!

A wonderful SUNday morning mission for The Garden House, Marple.
The Garden House started as a community project in 2015. As it grew in popularity, and it began working with more organisations and charities, and now provides a beautiful safe space haven for children and young adults and raises awareness of green issues, as well as animal welfare and mental health.
Rob and I were happily greeted at the farm with an array of morning welcomes - grunts, clucks and bleets before setting off on our mission.
The Garden House is host to an abundance of delicious looking fruit and vegetable plots and our mission was to tend to the orchards - creating perfectly (Rob's, not mine) crafted soil beds around the base of the apple, plum and pear trees to allow them to flourish come Summer.
We even hand fed the chickens their morning worms!
The early bird really does get the worm!
