The Honeypot Children's Charity

Honeypot’s vision is for every child to make the most of their one chance at childhood.
We have helped and continue to work with thousands of children from across the UK. Most of these children are young carers who juggle their education alongside performing a surrogate adult role at home. Many care for a chronically or terminally ill loved one, or have a parent with drug, alcohol or mental health problems. Some will have been in a caring role from as young as 5 years old, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

4 GoodGymers have supported The Honeypot Children's Charity with 2 tasks.

The bees were buzzing and the fans were generous!

Monday 28th January 2019

Written by Jody goldman

Three Barnet GoodGymmers layered up and headed over to the home of Barnet Football Club to collect money for local children’s charity, The Honeypot, before the big game against Brentford FC.

The Honeypot is a fabulous organisation that supports children between 5-12 who are young carers and have to support people in their household. The children are sent to respite camps in the New Forest and Wales where they are able to take a break from their homes and make friends and have fun times.

The fans proved generous and before long the collection jars were ‘a jingling! Fay and Jenny stayed on to watch the match, which turned out to be particularly eventful, ending with a 3-3 draw. Not bad at all!

On a breezy December morning, 2 Barnet goodgymmers Fay and Fiona bustled over to Barnet FC's ground the Hive to help support the Honeypot Charity.

When arriving at the Football club we were sent to the away stand to shake buckets as the fsns were arriving. Much to Fays excitement it was Stockport FC so she was surrounded by Northerners! The atmosphere was great and the fans were super generous!

It was a fun festive afternoon amd hopefully we raised a fair bit for a great cause!

Oh, and Barnet won 1-0!
