Green is the colour, painting is the game, we all work together and GoodGym is our name.

everything happens for a reason..... thats what I said to Donna, our taskmaster tonight at the Laura Centre.

Firstly the weather gods were against us... heavy snow at the weekend followed by siberian temperatures had turned most footpaths to toboggan runs and it made any "on foot" activity pretty much impossible.

Secondly, various bouts of lurgy had struck down some of our most trusted and reliable members meaning that attendance was significantly down.... hoping you all get better soon.

I had limited the number to 10 anyway as I knew we would be working in a confined space but as it turned out, many more than the 5 that we ended up with and it would have felt somewhat cozy.

On the plus side, the absence of a run and subsequent fitness activity meant that we could go direct to, and focus completely on the task.

As arranged, we sent an advance party to prep the area.. kitchen things to be moved out, things to be unscrewed from walls, masking up, and splash covers to be put up.. all that sort of thing.

Ably assisted by Mel and Lee we made good inroads. Perfectly on cue we were joined by Jim and Nicola who respectively attacked the radiator and the high ceilings. The teamwork was something to behold with everyone playing different and various roles such as painter, cleaner, human roller tray holder, roller loader, cutter inner, masking tape remover, brush cleaner, and "you have missed a bit " spotter.

As a self employed handyman and a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to DiY I could not have been happier with the job that we did. Again, not one bit of spilled paint, no mess, everything cleaned and the room restored to as it was.... except of course for a nice new bright green colour scheme.

Thankfully our host agreed that we had indeed done a great job.

Bit of a break now until New Year when hopefully our poorly peeps will no longer be poorly and the weather will be a little more conducive to running.
