The William Morris Society garden

Tidying up the WMS garden after a long period of closure
The William Morris Society is a charity which runs a small museum in Hammersmith, near to Furnivall Gardens. We've been closed for 2 years due to Covid and then serious flooding, and our garden has become neglected. We are taking part in Open Gardens in June and would love some help to tidy up and replant the garden!

William Morris? More like William Mosses!

Tuesday 31st May 2022

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

A dreary, and damp, day was made a lot nicer through a big group mission to help tidy the gardens of the William Morris Society at his old gaff.

Splitting into teams, we helped deweed the front and back main gardens, whilst Lucy, myself and Divy tackled the back garden, a lovely abode of mosses and ferns. However whilst lovely, mosses do make these remarkably slippy so a good scrubbing was needed to ensure that these steps were not a hazard to those wanting to enjoy the garden.

A lovely task, hopefully we'll be back soon to polish off our work.
