Chasing Bluebells

Wednesday 17th May 2023

Written by Rob

Last night Fiona and Rob met up to go for a run, unfortunately the task that we had planned was cancelled very last minute due to the organiser not being very well.

Not put off by this, we still went for a run along the canal and a chat, we even found some lovely bluebells. As the canal was quiet, we would do 10 second sprints with 30 seconds of easy running. Once off the canal, it was time to head back to base but not after a run up the hill, not put off by this, we had a small sprint up with a rest at the top.

Once back at base, it was then time to stretch our legs and rehydrate. We will be back next week, hope to see you there!

Lets run

Wednesday 3rd May 2023

Written by Rob

Last night Fiona and Rob were back in Solihull ready to do some more good, unfortunately the task we had planned cancelled very last minute, leaving us not enough time to get ready to do a little pick in our designated parks.

Not put off by this, we decided to go for a nice run and a chat in the sun in the park instead to keep the KMS up for the week and to test Rob's knee out after his injury. Once we had gone twice round to get up to the magical 5k distance, we headed back to base for a refreshing drink.

Once back, we did some quick stretches then inside to rest.

We will be back next week to do more good, hope to see you there.

Tree picking

Wednesday 26th April 2023

Written by Rob

This week, Rob and Fiona were back at Trinity place for the first time this year.  Once again we are in the rose garden weeding the flower beds that have been neglected over the winter months. We need to get both flower beds looking lovely in time for the next weekend's coronation party. It was great to see all the residents again, as we haven't been for a while during the winter months.

After a good 45 minutes working on the one flower bed, pulling out everything Rob and Fiona thought were weeds, it was time to tidy up and head on our way back to base.

We will be back next week to do more weeding ready for the party weekend, hope to see you there.

Plogging along the canal

Wednesday 31st August 2022

Written by Rob

This week saw Rob and Fiona take on the long run down the canal, picking up all the rubbish they could find along the way.

This is a longer run than normal, but it is good to stop along the way to pick up any rubbish we can find.

Once we are done and off the canal, it is time to run the hills back to base, ready for the drinks to rehydrate with.

Next week we will be at a brand-new task, which will be great to see you there!

Let it rain

Wednesday 17th August 2022

Written by Rob

This week we were meant to be helping Trinity close residents but due to all the rain we have had unfortunately they cancelled as they didn't really want to get wet!

Never put off, Chris and Rob decided to go for a run and find some new parks that we could potentially litter pick in the future!

After a good 6k run and finding a few new routes and parks, we headed back to base, where Fiona was waiting for us for our weekly drinks and chat.

Next week we will be back doing more good, hope to see you then.

Sofa picking

Wednesday 3rd August 2022

Written by Rob

this week saw Rob and Chris return to Trinty close to help the residents litter pick around the area.

after the very hot run down, John gave us a drink of water before heading on our way with 5 other residents to pick up all the rubbish we could find.

Once we had done the block plus a few extra roads it was time to tie the bags up ready for the council to collect them all!

After this we said our good byes and headed on our way back to base up the hill! Thankfully by the time we made it back Fiona had a drink waiting for us to cool down with!

We will be back doing good again next week, hope to see you there!
