2 Goodgymers set their alarms early to help at St Nicks junior Parkrun in Warwick.
It was a chillier start than recent days but thankfully it was dry and not too windy.
The kids taking part were full of enthusiasm today with everyone running nearly the whole way and very few stopping to walk. Katherine was timekeeping and Nigel barcode scanning, so we got to see everyone coming over the finish line and they all looked so fresh and still full of energy! Very different to how we look crossing the line at Parkrun sweating and out of breath...
I think we'll be taking a leaf out of the juniors' book for the rest of the year, approaching each run with their levels of enthusiasm and a smile on our faces :-)

2 Goodgymers were up bright and early to support St Nicks Junior Parkrun in Warwick.
Nigel was getting his barcode scanning skills back up to scratch, whilst Katherine was on token distribution.
With 62 runners having completed the course and the tokens sorted (minus number 48 which someone must have wandered home with, grrr) the job was done!
Looking forward to junior parkrun in Cov next weekend!

2 Goodgymers enjoyed the beautiful spring sunshine this morning to support at St Nick's junior parkrun in Warwick. Nigel was barcode scanning and Katherine time keeping. The warmer weather was very welcome rather than having numb fingers when trying to work our phones!
There were some fantastic sprint finishes by the kids today with a particular highlight being 3 girls who had already finished their run forming a cheerleading gang to encourage their friend who was still running. So lovely to see such support for each other offered by the kids.
60 participants in total and regulars are definitely getting quicker all the time. Some future Olympians in the making!

3 GoodGymers enjoyed the beautiful Sunday morning sunshine in St Nicholas Park in Warwick whilst helping to support Junior Parkrun.
It was a frosty start making the frozen grass in the park look mystical but thankfully the paths were clear so it was safe for the event to go ahead.
After some cheering on of the runners during their first lap, it was a quick set-up of the finish tunnel before the first runner crossed the line. Katherine was handing out finish tokens whilst Laura and Nigel were on scanning duties.
72 children finished in total - a great turnout! Then it was time for the big kids to do a quick few miles around the park for our after-task social run. What a great way to spend a Sunday morning :-)

For the second time this weekend, 2 Warwick and Leamington Spa Goodgymers were volunteering at Parkrun - this time Junior Parkrun at St Nicks in Warwick.
Thankfully it was slightly warmer than yesterday's frosty start, which Katherine was grateful for as she was on timekeeping today so had to be gloveless to ensure she could register the times on her phone as the runners crossed the line.
Nigel was on barcode scanning duties again and noted that the juniors were much more efficient with producing their barcodes than the adults had been at yesterday's parkrun!
60 runners took part in total - a fantastic turnout for a cold winter's morning.
