Hilary took on the task of leading the team from the Aquatics Center.
Kevin and I opted for a shorter run from home
Tim walked from Stratford so was the first to arrive and so was there to welcome Zetta on her first GoodGym task.
After a quick catch up with Paul,Brad,Adam and Eugene who we haven't seen for a few weeks.
We also welcomed Emily and Juan to there first Goodgym task and Nick on his first visit to Emmanuel Church.
Once all the introductions had been made Sybil set us to work with weeding the flower beds at the front of the church and also trim the shrubs, with the help of two of the church wardens.
Sybil then took me to the side of the church to plan out what we will be doing when we return July.
Weeds pulled and shrubs trimmed we packed up and took the tools back into the church where Sybil had laid on a wonderful set of refreshments. Sybil sent Eugene home with a food parcel.
Next week we head to Newham Hospital

Our intrepid Goodgym crew made their way to Water Station 4 (Pritchard's Road) very early on Sunday morning, excited for a big day out. Upon our arrival, we met with volunteer coordinator Polly and the lovely team from Fordy Runs Running Club in Broxbourne (https://www.fordyruns.com/) for a briefing and log in as official volunteers for the day. We were running against the clock to fill 30 tables with water cups to hydrate20,000+ runners before 9.40am (the estimated time for the first runners approaching mile 8 of the half marathon - so so fast!!!). Each table had 5 layers of drinks laid on top of each other, to ensure easy distribution during the race.
Between our teams, and some much appreciated help from the local cadets, we had a perfect aid station set up by 9.35am- and then the party started. Non stop cheering and joy for all of the runners on the day, perfect running conditions and fantastic vibes. It was wonderful to spot our Goodgym runners out on course and to help them on their journey back to Hackney Marshes.
Well done on an excellent morning of support for your fellow runners! And have a fantastic rest of your weekend!

We welcomed Ibrahim to his first visit to GG Newham.
Graham led the group from the Aquatics Centre (yes back at our original base)
Kevin and I headed there from home with a gentle run through West Ham Park.
Elaine and Sybil greeted us and showed us to the allotment plot that needed a very large old shed dismantling ready for collection. It is hoped that the plot will then be let out to a new resident.
We started with clearing some debris from inside the shed before it was attacked with a sledgehammer, with a final group push the shed was flattened.
Elaine and Sybil had laid on some wonderful refreshments.
We said our good byes and headed into the sunset.
We will see Sybil next week at Emmaunel Church.....so will be more post task refreshments sign up here
