Ealing Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
On a fresh but sunny Wednesday morning, 15 awesome new members of the Brompton team came out to get stuck in to some outdoor tasks to help at Horsenden Hill Farm.
We were joining the Friends of Horsenden Hill which is a group of people who love and appreciate Horsenden Hill and the farm and want others to enjoy and celebrate this unique and wonderful location!
We met at the Brompton offices in Greenford where we got ready for a short but beautiful cycle along the canal, a couple of people also walked to meet us there so they got even more time to enjoy the route on such a sunny morning! These sessions are organised as part of the company's immersion days, so it's always a bit of a surprise to find out what thet are doing but it was great to hear a few people already knew about GoodGym and someone has also already been on a GoodGym session before. Lovely stuff!
We all arrived safely at the farm to find Michael who described all the jobs we could get stuck into for the day. The main task was to dig a trench for some new pipe work but everyone had to choice to move around and try different things as well as getting a chance to enjoy the space and even meet some of the animals!
Here's a little overview of all the things we did:
We cleared a whole patch of stinging nettles
We dug a trench for some new piping
We cleared weeds
We stripped bark from chopped trees
And we all got an excellent workout doing so!
It wasn't long before we had to leave but we achieved so much in the time we were there. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the session and some were even making plans for their next visit, that's what we like to hear!
