We got on very well! From funnel time checking, to marshaling, to barcode scanning, to tail walking, to stuff I’ve missed, to…whatever it was Andy did… we did a pop up Goodgym at parkrun.
It also had a number of police officers highlighting the important issue of women’s safety on runs, with lots of survey responses collected. And even a woman getting the coveted 001 Parkrun. Incredible pace.
Remember - Goodgym does also do night safety training for men, to better help understand the issues that women have to go through. 97% of women have been harassed while out running and that is unacceptable.
Sunday 12th October

Farid Sayyed earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Farid completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Farid was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Our merry band of litter pickers, and some little helpers, were at Chelmsford Marathon this morning, helping keep the race village tidy as a whopping 25,000 runners took part in the half and full marathon events. It was great to welcome Farid to his first session and for Jen and Richard to be encouraging the future generation of goodgymers to get involved in helping the community. Great work everyone.
