Five Goodgymmers shook off the Monday Blues and gathered at our base in Wanstead for a task & run. Trainer James had to turn back when he was near (hope all was ok in the end) but he sent instructions for the task planned. So after what seemed an eternity (we need to source a better hot water tap!), the bucket was filled with warm water and armed with squeegees & applicators (technical name, according to Google, honestly!) we made our way down the high street to continue the project started in December - cleaning windows for local charity shops.
This time it was the turn of Barnardos. With improvised 'stepping stools' borrowed from The Manor House, the windows were attacked with soapy water and sparkling clean in no time whatsoever. A walk back to base to drop off the equipment and it was time for a run. Quick discussion later the decision was made to go for a steady long run rather than an interval session - democracy at work!
A nice 5 and a bit km and a stretching session later it was time to pack up and go home, happy and tired, looking forward to next weeks challenge.

On a chilly winter night, six of Goodgym's most committed runners met to make Wanstead a better place and did a challenging Fartlek session on George Green.
With only three runs left in 2018, the team were feeling full of festive cheer and eager to get about sweeping the leaf fall that builds up so quick at Wanstead House. Armed with rakes, giant shovels and brooms, the team set about sweeping and raking the mountains of leaves around the house. Moving quickly, to keep warm the group had soon collected a wheelie bin full of leaves and were soon up the road, on a warm up before the fartlek session.
With the roads now dark and uninviting, Team Rebridge have begun a winter season of structured interval sessions aimed at making them better runners in the New Year. A current favourite is the High-5 Fartlek session which involves pairing up and running around George Green in opposite directions. When the two runners meet they high-5 and switch between running easy and running hard. It's super fun and a great way to make time pass quickly.
A big mention to new members Tom and Lauren for a super speedy session! Nice work guys, you were really shifting out there!
Sadly there's only two Goodgym's left for 2018, so make sure you join us next week for our penultimate task and fitness session!
