We helped Thomas from Southampton City Farm move a bunch of materials from B&Q out of the parking lot - they'll be soon used to build a chicken coop on the farm grounds. We did this in a totally not competitive way.
We were also by no means influenced by the promise of feeding the animals and running with ponies if we finished early.
Having finished the task in about 30 minutes, we spent the rest of the time playing with the animals and helping the farm put them to sleep. We got to run through the school's fields with Salt & Pepper, the ponies, which were surprisingly quick.

What a relief to have a cooler day for today's task joining the Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery FoSOC on their monthly session. Lucy and I got stuck in with the regular volunteers tackling rampant brambles, clearing around some gravestones. We certainly didn't mind the odd shower although rain did stop play at 11.45 but we managed to fill plenty of large bags. They always offer refreshments at their hub in the old chapel which are most welcome when you are a tad damp.

Some of the team arrived early to do some hill reps ... not sure how many they did, but its a steep hill so hats off to them!
This evenings task was to weed Bed 6 and the adjacent paths and another path which was almost hidden under long grass and comfrey.
Everything which wasn't a crop had to go... except for the Sunflower!!!! Thanks to Abby the Sunflower survived 😊
We were a triumphant team of 10 tonight and completed the task in the hour!
We finished the evening with cake provided by Ellie to remember her Gran, who would have had her 93rd birthday today.

A very warm welcome to not one but two GoodGymers tonight Steve and Laura. Great to meet you and we hope to see you back soon! We frequented our usual alley way for a spruce up. We thought it would be pretty bad as we haven't visited in a while, but dare we say it was a litter bit empty for a change! We might need to find a new alley way to target. We still managed to quickly fill up lots of bags in the surrounding paths and car parks so that kept us busy. Until next time Lordshill!
