Today 5 Goodgymmers went to Surrey Docks Farm to help Pat.
Our task today was to move soil out of two of the allotment beds so that they could be rebuilt. It was grueling work but we all got stuck in and we made a big difference. Great teamwork! 🙌🥰
Extra special mentions to first-timers Sreyans and Yuxi. Thank you for coming and we hppe to see you again soon! 💛

It was a pretty wild and windy evening in Bethnal Green tonight, but that didn't deter 19 GoodGymers descending on Rocky Park to do battle with a particularly stubborn border garden.
Led by the brilliant Margaret and Ash of the Teesdale and Hollybush TRA, this task forms part of an ongoing project to transform gardens, planters and allotments across the estate.
Our job tonight was to remove some unwanted shrubs, load them into wheelbarrows, and transport them across the park. Working mainly in the border garden, in a large group, trying to ignore the rain, teamwork was the order of the night. Wheelbarrows were loaded and soil and shrubs shuttled across to the other side of the park. Even when the heavens opened, the GoodGymers didn't stop.
By 7:50, the job was nearly done - and the team pretty drenched.
Having wheeled the last few barrows of soil and gathered equipment, we posed for the final couple of pictures.
And then came the reward: Lobo’s doughnuts and Margaret’s Cadbury’s Twirls. Glycogen replenished, we sloshed our way to the pub for well-earned drinks and a lovely birthday celebration.

Yesterday, 5 Goodgymmers went to help Pat at Surrey Docks Farm. As we trickled in (first Oliver, then Matilde, Vic and Zeina) she quickly set us to work.
We split into two groups since there were two trenches the needed to be worked on. Firstly we had to make them deeper, before filling them in with layers of manure, compost and soil.
It started to rain just as we were finishing up. Even though it was cold and wet, we stayed to visit the cows (Penguin and Oreo) and feed the sheep.

Seven GoodGym enthusiasts met with Kamal at the Tower Hamlets Community Transport hub to support Ocean Youth Connexions prepare for a busy season ahead.
Danya, Emma, Hedley, Lobo and Oliver travelled round the corner from Felix Project and joined Ilana and Megan with sweeping, raking and shovelling earth into manageable mounds… ready to be hefted round the corner to a large communal compost heap.
⭐️We heaped, we heaved, we laughed and got a lot done. Well done, Everyone!⭐️
We’ll be helping Kamal at the hub again on Thursday 30 January.

Seasoned Felix Project-pro Oliver got to work in the Warehouse, whilst Lobo joined Tom to take us through our safety induction. Following an introduction to the warehouse, we headed next door to work in the kitchen.
The induction took just under an hour, which meant we only had 50 minutes in the kitchen but got straight to work.
It was a delight to work hard with Danya, Hedley, Lobo, and Oscar. Team spirit was very much the order of the day as we quickly formed efficient working lines to prep and pack ready meals of rice and dahl.
We completed 360 ready meal microwaveable boxes, which roughly equates to 438kg of ready-to-eat food for Londoners.
⭐️Well done, Everyone. I reckon that’s a job well done. ⭐️
I’d also like to extend a very warm welcome from GoodGym to Oscar and Hedley who joined us at Felix in Poplar for their first task. Looking forward to seeing you both soon.
