Brent Report written by Ellie Hutch
9 Brent badasses braved the cold, for a task they were told, would bring some positivity to the Brent community.
Now to begin this tale of a Monday night in Brent, to say it was cold would be an understatement.... My people, it was FREEEEEEZZZZZIINNNGGGG
But despite the chill in air, it was awesome to be met with such a warm reception at the Queensbury. Joining the rad regulars, was new to the Brent gang, Jorge and this four language speaking, salsa dancing, winner from Wembley, we sure were happy to have join the ranks!
So after a quick hello it was 3,2,1 GOOOO Down the one mile dash to our regular task master Colin and to finish our mural of all the Goodgym hardwork in the Old Police Station, turned art hub, for the community of Willesden.
As usual Colin had lots of work to be done. but namely the continuation of our Goodgym mural, which required sketches of Goodgym related scenes, the hard work and the hilarity. So it was down to our most arty threesome to get working on that.... Liz, Nisha and Saorla, who designed and sketched our scenes onto the wall.
The rest of the gang focused on some more manual labour; shifting debrit from the last few rooms that needed painting and moving very heavy bricks and debrit outside to clear more space for artist's to work.
The really tough and strong tasks were tackled by Debs, Pete and Jorge. Who worked tirelessly and in the cold too, slinging heavy loads into Colin's van for removal. Dinesh, Nisha and I, got busy inside, moving all kinds of heavy and interesting things from one room to the next; Including a full desk and draws and some extremely heavy storage boxes.
Our efforts of course cheered on as usual by the resident cats who thought our hard work was PUUURRRRfect
After a good 45 mins of arts and slinging crafts, I had to sadly ring the final bell. But the fun didn't stop there, oh nooo!!! There was just enough time for some Hill-arity to warm up and get our fitness on, before home.
So off we flew, chugging that hill in the old school train drill, followed by tempos down to finish!! No stopping the steam from this troop of train dodgers, as each one pushed hard for a HIIT session from hell.... no wait, I mean heaven!
Farewells were next, after we'd done our best. For Brent we did task, for a worthy cause who did ask. Using our legs to travel, then hills we did battle. Now back home for some dinner, Monday night, what a winner!!
See you next time!!!

Lewisham Report written by Nate Gibson
Ms C needed the leaves raked up and the higher beds weeded. She has thought of having us mow the lawn as well, but decided it was too wet. Her garden was in very good order otherwise. We raked and swept the leaves, weeded out and turned over the beds, and pulled up the moss out of the rose plants, making things just that bit tidier and getting at the harder to reach spots. We finished in just about an hour and Ms C seemed pleased and said she was very grateful for the help. Unfortunately we both forgot to take any photos during the mission, so the attached photo is of the beautiful blue skies we had today.

Lewisham Report written by James Gilbert
Two GoodGym-ers fresh from a parkrun helped Mrs B on Saturday morning by tidying up a whole bunch of stuff in her backyard.
After starting off a fresh Autumn morning at parkrun, James (runner) and Monica (marshall) made their way to Mrs B’s house where the initial plan was to help out in her garden.
Mrs B welcomed us and started off by suggesting that as the garden was wet, we might help clear up some things into rubbish bags and put them out the front for collection.
We were only too happy to oblige. We started off by transporting several bags full of garden waste out the front of the house using a handy trolley. In fact moving the trolley through the house was so tricky that after the first trip we simply left it by the front door and manoeuvred ourselves around it. Perhaps a not-so-handy trolley!
After clearing the garden waste bags, we got to work bagging up a whole bunch of varied old things that had piled up outside the back door. This included bits and pieces of all shapes, sizes and weights.
In the course of doing this we disturbed an unassuming amphibian that had taken shelter in an old carpet. The friendly froggy posed for a few photos before hopping off to parts unknown. Wherever it is we hope it bears us no ill will. Maybe it’s reading this run report right now. If so, we’d just like to say - forgive us froggy, it wasn't personal!
Now when Mrs B opens her back door she is greeted by a lovely clear area rather than a bunch of old stuff. Little changes like that can make a big difference. We really enjoyed our morning helping out at Mrs B’s and chatting with her all the while. A great way to start the weekend!

Bexley Report written by Tim Dickson
Wow, what a weird but beautiful sky we had yesterday evening. The winds were strong so we were all hoping that it would be behind us on our way back........ Last night we headed out to our friends at the Welling Community Hospice Shop. With a great reception on arrival as usual we were greeted with a welcome drink and smiling faces. Tonight they had a few tasks they were hoping we could help with, and help them with we did. We split up into 3 teams. Team 1 - Chalk Board painting. Team 2 - Toys off shelves, shelves and toys cleaned and them put back on display. Team 3 - deep cleaning and sorting out new kitchen area. It was then all hands on deck for a floor sweeping and moping. Boy that was our fitness session for the night :-) After getting so much done it was time to say our goodbyes, or should i say, see you soon's and we headed back along the High street for base camp Crooklog. Let me tell you that on our way back we passed the Welling Library and a task we done a couple of weeks ago and it still looked brilliant. It gives you a proud moment feeling knowing that all the work was done by our Bexley Goodgym team and that it has really made that location look so good. It was a pat on the back moment.

This evening we were really please to have two new faces at Goodgym Bexley. Big welcome goes out to Matt and David for the great company and the hard work you guys put in. I know for a fact that Greenwich and Bexley Hospice really appreciated your help and we loved having you with us. Hope to see you both next week.
